How HumaText works
HumaText uses structured rewrite instructions instead of a single vague “sound more human” prompt. Here is what the engine changes, what the local writing-pattern score means, and what it cannot prove.
Writing patterns that make a draft read as generic
Commercial detectors are proprietary and change over time. Public research and vendor materials commonly discuss signals such as:
- Perplexity — how predictable each word is given the previous ones. Some generated text can be more predictable, but this signal also varies with genre, language background, and editing style.
- Burstiness — variation in sentence length and structure. Some generated drafts are unusually uniform, but careful human prose can be uniform too.
- Repeated phrasing — stock transitions and generic phrases can make a draft feel formulaic, although no word by itself proves AI authorship.
What the rewrite does
Each humanization mode uses explicit instructions for cadence, sentence variety, direct phrasing, and factual fidelity, plus a curated generic-phrase list. Advanced makes a deeper single precision edit. Deeper editing is not automatically better, so compare the result with the source.
The writing-pattern score
We compute a local 0–100 heuristic from sentence-length variation, average sentence length, vocabulary richness, a fixed list of formulaic words and phrases, and contraction rate. It is a writing-pattern pre-check, not a calibrated probability, authorship finding, or prediction of any third-party detector.
Honest limitations
No humanizer can guarantee a specific detection outcome. Detection tools update and can disagree. Advanced mode can make deeper structural changes; Standard is a lighter edit. Every output can introduce mistakes, so verify meaning, facts, citations, and the rules that apply before using it.
